Southland Community Church

Jim Dodson’s love for music and commitment to teaching have combined to provide Southland with a passionate leader for the church’s growing worship ministry. In the church’s first year, his encouragement brought together a diverse group of musicians and singers that have helped Southland create a blended worship time for all to enjoy.

Jim and wife Sharon have three daughters and six grandchildren to keep them busy. Jim received his bachelor of arts degree in music education from Anderson University and is currently working to complete a master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is a devoted public servant, serving as chairman of the board for White River Township Fire Department.

Jim’s career in ministry has included a number of positions in music ministry and associate pastorships, including churches in Anderson, Indianapolis, Fishers and Greenwood, as well as two churches in Ohio.

The vision God has given me has three elements:

• To see the church passionately worshipping God as a body
• To see every believer using his/her spiritual gifts in active ministry
• To see seeking people find Christ as Savior
