Welcome from Pastor Steve Schellin

Thanks so much for checking us out. If you are thinking about a visit to Southland, let me help you relax with a few things you might be wondering about.  Hopefully our website will inform you about our beliefs as well as the many ministries, Bible studies, classes, services, groups, and just plain fun that occur each week.

What are Sunday services like?
Southland offers two different worship experiences (an hour each) that vary in style and service time. You're welcome to come early to the 11:00, or stay a little late after the 9:00 to join us for coffee and donuts in the Café. There There you'll find an Information Center where you can talk with someone about getting involved or just gather more information.

The Classic
This experience is a blend of hymns and choruses that is piano and orchestra driven, with smaller ensemble groups being featured throughout the year. At the Classic, you will see a wide range of ages in the congregation as well as a wide range of attire – everything from Sunday best to casual. The Classic starts at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

The Well
The Well is our newest experience that features modern music in a casual and inviting atmosphere. It is band-driven with guitars, keyboard, drums, and two or three vocalists. The Well begins at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

What are the messages like?
I speak in both services each Sunday. My passion is to cover relevant issues with encouraging and practical biblical truths that can guide us through the best and worst times in life.

What should I wear?
We are definitely a "come as you are" church.  The comment I hear most from people is, "it was so friendly and I felt like I fit right in." Dress is a little bit of everything—some in coats and ties, some in jeans.  Just be yourself—and be comfortable.

What are Southland's Mission & Vision Statements?
Here at Southland our mission is, "Being and making growing followers of Jesus Christ."

Our vision is to be "an expanding body of believers and congregations in the surrounding suburbs of Indianapolis fulfilling our mission of being and making growing followers of Jesus Christ."

Other programs?
We also offer classes on Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm. We believe it's a great way to learn about God's love for us and build lasting friendships.

I could go on about all you'll find here, but I'll let you browse through the website to discover the opportunities we have for you. We hope to see you soon!
