Influencer: The Public Me

Jesus said we have amazing opportunities to influence others when he told us, "You are the salt of the earth and the light of the world." (Matthew 5:13-16) What does that influence look like? Who should I be in public and how should I intentionally seek to influence others? Jesus set the example and taught us a lot about it.

How does my faith impact my work? How can my work be used as a space to publicly live out my relationship with Jesus? Scripture offers many insights into my work being an act of worship. It’s always a risk to engage in the political process. Yet, it’s also a privilege to live in a system where free speech is valued and appreciated. John Rinehimer is the Vice President of International Ministries and Mobilization for World Global Mission. John committed to serve the Lord at 17 and told the Lord he would go anywhere and do anything He asked. This promise led to him and his wife, Erica, serving in Uganda with WGM for two years as missionary disciples. After almost a decade spent in the pastorate near Chicago, John returned to WGM, this time in a new role that will combine the Mobilization and Communications team.

Special Guest: Tony Trent
Tony Trent is the father of Tyler Trent, a legendary Purdue fan whose story of courage and hope in the face of his journey with the rare bone cancer osteosarcoma inspired so many across the nation. Tony is now the President of the Tyler Trent Foundation which supports cancer research and honors the memory of Tyler by working to improve the lives of others and challenged by this disease. He resides in Carmel with his wife and their two boys. Tony is a small group leader at his church.
