The Identity Series

Who am I? There is a lot of discussion about people discovering who they are, seeking to be their “true selves.” Maybe a better question is, “who does God say that I am?” The Bible story begins with the creation of human beings and defines God’s purpose and design. Soon after humanity began, things went downhill and identity prescribed by God was lost. But God had more to say about our condition. Find out who you are in the Identity series.

August 20 | More Than My Stuff

Pastor Steve Schellin

Many people seek to validate themselves through the accumulation of wealth and stuff. The more I have, the more valued I am...to myself and to others. Is my life all about chasing after more, only to leave it all to someone else in the end? Even when I achieve my dreams of success, I can still feel empty. Who am I if not the sum of my accomplishments, my stuff or my accounts? To prepare, read Luke 12:22-31.

August 27 | The Identity Thief

Pastor Steve Schellin

The Bible is clear, we are more than our physical existence and our mental capacities. We are also a spirit living in a spiritual world. There is a being in the spiritual world that fights against us every moment of everyday. He seeks to deceive us into finding our identity in ideas and philosophies that are the complete opposite of the identity God created in us. It’s time to expose this identity thief. To prepare, read Luke 4:1-13.
