Christmas At Southland | With Us

The Bible tells us Jesus would be called Immanuel. This name means, “God with us.” So the physical presence of Jesus in our world was to show us God sees us, cares about us, heals us and gives our lives purpose. So when we celebrate the birth of Christ, we celebrate the reality that God is tangibly involved in our existence. His presence is real.

With Us Before We Were Born | Isaiah 7

Senior Pastor | Steve Schellin

The prophets told about the coming of Jesus long before He was born in Bethlehem. An angel even reminded Joseph of this. This prophecy was given to encourage people who were beaten down, oppressed, depressed and overwhelmed by their circumstances. Just as He was talked about long before He came to lift up the people, His coming is meant to give you hope and strength. To prepare, read Isaiah 7

With Us To Show Who God Is | Isaiah 7

Senior Pastor | Steve Schellin

Jesus was much more than another religious leader. He was the physical manifestation of God Himself. He was God wearing our skin. With His teaching Jesus revealed the true character and nature of God to a world that had been confused and deceived by lies. He can open your eyes just like He opened the eyes of those who heard Him in person. To prepare, read John 1:1-18.

With Us To Fix What Is Broken | Matthew 1:18-25

Senior Pastor | Steve Schellin

If everything was right in the world, we wouldn’t need Christmas. But you don’t have to look far to see that a lot of things are broken here. When God had Joseph name the baby Jesus, it was because His Name meant “God saves.” That’s what Jesus does when He’s with you: He fixes what is broken. To find out more about this, read about Joseph’s encounter with an angel in Matthew 1:18-25.

With Us To Fill Us With Love | 1 John 4:7-18

Senior Pastor | Steve Schellin

God not only demonstrated His love by sending Jesus to be with us, He offers to put that same love in our hearts, in our spirits. Christmas can reconcile us with God, but it can also re-connect us with each other. We can even receive the Spirit to love the most unlovable. To prepare, read 1 John 4.

Christmas Day

With Us Always | Matthew 28:16-20

Senior Pastor | Steve Schellin

Jesus ended where He started. At the end of His earthly life He told His disciples (and us) He will be with us always, even to the end of the earth. He puts us on a mission to bring the Christmas story to our generation. Just as we are followers of God with us, we strive to lead others to experience God with them. To prepare, read Matthew 28:16-20.
